Concord, NC – Parish Moffitt, Pilot, small business owner, and District Liaison for Rep. Linda Johnson, filed today for the Republican nomination for North Carolina House District 82.  Earlier today, Rep. Linda Johnson announced she would not be seeking re-election to the House and had asked Moffitt to file for the seat.

“I am honored and humbled that Representative Johnson asked me to run,” Moffitt said upon filing. “She is an outstanding public servant with an impressive record of accomplishments for both our district and our state. Our economy, our state’s fiscal health, and our public schools are stronger because of her service and her leadership. I share Representative Johnson’s commitment to conservative values, limited government, low taxes, and ensuring all North Carolina students have the opportunity to receive a quality education. She certainly leaves big shoes to fill in Raleigh, but I am excited to follow in her footsteps and will certainly be relying on her for advice and guidance.”

Moffitt has served as Rep. Johnson’s District Liaison since January of 2019 representing Johnson at numerous events and meetings across the district and working with her to craft solutions to challenges faced by Cabarrus County residents and small businesses.  Additionally, Moffitt is a pilot with American Airlines, the owner of Aero Crews, LLC, and a volunteer firefighter with the Odell Volunteer Fire Department. He serves as Rep. Johnson’s liaison on the Western Cabarrus Minority Council and is an active volunteer with veterans’ organizations, civic groups, and his church.

“It is my pleasure to endorse Parish Moffitt for N.C. House,” Rep. Linda Johnson said. “Parish is a strong, conservative leader who will be a champion for District 82 and all of Cabarrus County. Serving as my district liaison, Parish has demonstrated his keen understanding of the critical issues facing our district and proven his commitment to working for the people of District 82.  I am confident Parish will be an outstanding member of the House.”

Moffitt and his wife, Jacqueline, are residents of Concord. They are the parents of two adult daughters. Moffitt is a graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with a B.S. in Technical Management and received his Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina.
